Buyer guide · Relevant experience
How can a buyer verify relevant packaging experience?
A client logo alone does not prove that a supplier has produced the same structure, material or process. The useful question is whether the team can show relevant, shareable experience and explain how it maps to the new product, quality requirement, quantity, schedule and delivery conditions.

Checklist
What to compare with a previous project
- Packaging structure and finished dimensions
- Paper, textile, plastic or insert material
- Printing and surface finishing processes
- Packed product and use environment
- Quantity and variable-data complexity
- Colour and quality checkpoints
- Packing, sorting and delivery requirements
- What evidence is authorised for sharing
Evidence check
Six stronger signals than a logo list
1. Comparable structure
A relevant case should demonstrate similar construction, opening, assembly, insert or load requirements.
2. Comparable materials
Paper grade, fabric, plastic, adhesive and surface behaviour should be technically relevant to the proposed route.
3. Comparable processes
Ask whether the experience covers the required print, colour, foil, embossing, die-cutting, sewing or assembly steps.
4. Comparable use case
Retail display, e-commerce fulfilment, warehouse sorting, gifting and food outer packaging create different controls.
5. Explained quality method
A credible answer describes artwork checks, sample approval, in-process controls, sampling and packing—not only the finished photo.
6. Authorised evidence
Shareable samples, anonymised details and approved case pages are stronger than confidential files or unauthorised order data.
Buyer questions
Four ways to test whether the experience is genuinely relevant
Ask what was actually supplied
Clarify the product category, process and responsibility instead of assuming every logo represents every capability.
Request a comparable sample
Review a legally shareable physical sample or production reference that demonstrates the key feature.
Discuss the differences
A capable team should identify where the new brief differs from the prior project and what must be tested again.
Start with an approval sample
Even with relevant experience, confirm the new dimensions, artwork, material and finish before bulk production.
FAQ
Project-experience questions
Can you share an identical previous order?
Only when sharing is authorised. Otherwise the team can show a comparable sample or describe structure, material, process and quality controls without disclosing confidential details.
Does a client logo prove you made every packaging category for that brand?
No. The actual supplied scope and production responsibility should be stated separately.
What if there is no identical previous case?
Relevant adjacent experience can still support the project, but the new structure, material or process should be validated through sampling and testing.
Can buyer files and order quantities be disclosed?
Confidential files, pricing, quantities and operational details should not be disclosed without permission.
